I am going to China to take part in a once in-a-lifetime chance that I may never come across again. How many people that you know have said, "Hey, I am going to China!" For me it's not many, I have never been there, and I don't want to miss the opportunity that I have to pass up something like this. I can't wait to go there! China has so much stuff to see, like the Great Wall, I can't imagine what it would have been like to build such a thing with noting but hand tools! Also, I am really looking forward to the food, I love trying new things, and I will go there with an open mind, maybe try something I can brag about, because other people probably wouldn't eat it. Because this is a class, not a vacation I would like to learn more about communism, and get a better idea for what everyday life is like in China, as apposed as here in the US. Honestly even though this trip is great, I am nervous. Don't worry the good way outweighs the bad. I am nervous for traveling half way across the world to a place I don't know well and could get lost in a foreign country. Also jet lag, because my mom used to talk about how she would get it when she went to Europe! China is on the other side of the world, that means it'll be so much worse! Still I want to go to China so much, and I don't want to pass up the opportunity I have!

  1. Lexa, I'm so excited that you're joining us on this journey! It's going to be a amazing, and we have a wonderful group of students and teachers. I like how you talk about approaching the experience with an open mind and getting the most of it. The food will be an adventure, and I'm glad that you want to experience it, instead of being scared of it. Jet lag is part of the experience, and we'll all be suffering for a day together =) Make sure to keep on top of your blog posts, and email me when you have the next two posted.
